8 Fusion

After swinging out the planer, the pieces should be checked by pushing them
together until they touch. If there is a space between the two pieces, it may be
no larger than max. 0.5 mm.
At the same time, the alignment should be checked.
Maximum allowable misalignment on the outside may not exceed 10% of the
wall thickness. If it is larger, then the pipe/fitting can be turned or the clamping
force on the inner basic clamping plate can be changed to achieve a better
alignment. In this case, a new machining of the surfaces to be fused is
required.
Shavings which fall into the pipe must be removed, for example, with a brush.
Before fusing, the machined surfaces must be cleaned with lintfree paper and
a grease-free cleanser, e.g. industrial alcohol or a special cleaner e.g. Tangit
KS.
The PTFE cover must be kept clean. Before starting fusion, both sides of the
heating element must be cleaned with a dry, lint-free paper.
The heating plate is heatet up to 210° C (410° F) – 260° C (500° F) while in
operation, in the heating up or cooling time. The danger of physical injuries by
burning has to be observed.
Never touch the jointing surfaces by hand after degreasing.
