Solving 500 Sheet Feeder Problems
When there is a problem with the 500 sheet feeder, the printer control panel displays an error code
and error message. Most paper feeder error codes indicate routine status conditions such as a paper
tray running out of paper or a paper jam in a specific area of the paper feeder. Some error codes
indicate much more serious problems that may require the help of a service technician.

If the paper feeder is inoperative after installation, refer to
“Installation Problems” on page
7-17
and complete the recommended procedure.

If the printer control panel displays an error message or an error code, refer to
“Interpreting
Paper Feeder Error Messages” on page 7-17
.

If you have a paper feeder problem but the printer control panel does not display an error
message or error code, refer to
“Correcting Miscellaneous Paper Feeder Problems” on page

and follow the directions for correcting that problem.
