ُ Repair as necessary and go to "verification of vehicle repair" procedure.
ُ Go to "Signal circuit inspection" procedure.
Signal Circuit Inspection
Ŷ
Check Output Speed Sensor(External Inspection)
1. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
2. Disconnect "ATM Control Unit connector.
3. Measure voltage between signal terminal of TCM harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 5V
4. Is the measured voltage within specifications ?
ُ Go to "Check Output Speed Sensor(Internal Check)" procedure.
ُ
Check for open or short in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "verification of vehicle repair"
procedure.
ُ If there is no problems with signal circuit, go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
Ŷ "Check Output Speed Sensor" (Internal Check)
1. Remove "OIL PAN".
2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
3. Disconnect "Output Speed Sensor connector.
4. Perform the continuity check in the signal line of output speed sensor.
Specification : Continuity
5. Is the measured resistance within specifications ?
ُ Go to "Ground circuit Inspection" procedure.
ُ Check for open or short in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "verification of vehicle repair"
procedure.
ُ If signal circuit in harness is OK, Substitute with a known-good A/T Range Switch and check for
proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace A/T Range Switch as necessary and go to
"verification of vehicle repair" procedure.
Ground Circuit Inspection
1. Ignition "OFF" & Engine "OFF".
2. Remove "OIL PAN".
3. Disconnect "Output Speed Sensor connector.
4. Measure continuity between ground terminal of Output Speed Sensor and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 0

5. Is the measured resistance within specifications ?
ُ Go to Component Inspection procedure.
ُ Check for open in harness. Repair as necessary and Go to "verification of vehicle repair" procedure.
ُ If ground circuit in harness is OK, Substitute with a known-good A/T Range Switch and check for
proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace A/T Range Switch as necessary and go to
"verification of vehicle repair" procedure.
