Loop Time Slot and Highway Submenu Option Settings (Continued)
The parameters you need to configure for a loop in the Circuit Configuration function depend on
the data rate(s) you configured for the loop in the Unit Configuration function. Be to have the
configuration worksheet in front of you when you perform the following procedure:
1.
From the Configuration menu, select the Circuit Configuration function by typing
3
and
pressing the Enter key.
2.
In the resulting Time Slot and Highway Configuration screen, type the selection number of
the loop you intend to configure and press the Enter key.
The unit responds by displaying the Loop Time Slot and Highway Submenu for the
selected loop.
3.
To perform highway assignment for a channel, type the appropriate selection number and
press the Enter key. Highlighting appears on the current setting field for the corresponding
option.
4.
Use the arrow keys to toggle the highlighted field through its potential settings. Highway
assignment can be One, Two, Three, Four, or Disable. If the channel is to be in use, its high-
way assignment must match that of the NIU for the UAS 7000 system.
5.
When the field displays the desired setting, press the Enter key. The highlighting disap-
pears and the field displays the new setting.
6.
Repeat steps 3 – 5 for the other channel, if necessary.
7.
To perform DS0 assignment for a channel, type the appropriate selection number and press
the Enter key. Highlighting appears on the current setting field for the corresponding op-
tion.
8.
Use the arrow keys to toggle the highlighted field through its potential settings, 1 – 32 and
NA (Not Applicable). Be sure to observe the constraints on DS0 assignment that appear in
the Definition column of Table 4-2.
9.
When the field displays the desired setting, press the Enter key. The highlighting disap-
pears and the field displays the new setting.

ting must be Channel A DS0 + 1. Settings 25
– 32 are valid only for use with UAS 7002
