A Test Rack
The A Test Rack was developed to facilitate a quick test set-up procedure and allows the
connection of the IPC-B-24 coupon to the A without the need to solder any connections and
therefore the time taken to set-up a test is greatly reduced.
6.2.1
Construction:
The Test Rack is constructed from electropolished stainless
steel allowing prolonged exposure to high humidity and
temperature conditions, found within the environmental test
chamber.

Connectors
The edge-connectors fitted to the rack are high quality, using gold-plated contacts to ensure a good
connection to the coupon.
16 edge connectors are fitted to the test-rack, allowing the connection of 64 measurement channels, 4 per
test-coupon.
6.2.3
Cables
The test rack is supplied fitted with four Halogen-Free measurement cables 2.25m in length, with screening
to minimise cross talk between measurement channels.
6.2.4
Design
Due to the test racks versatile design, it may be placed in almost any orientation within the environmental
test chamber, allowing the correct airflow across the test coupons to be achieved.
The test rack is designed to be stackable, allowing more than one set of test coupons to be placed in the test
chamber at once, without the tests affecting one another.
The design of the test rack is rugged with good measurement cable strain relief, leading to fewer problems
with broken wires and connections are easily checked with the use of a continuity test coupon.
Gen3 can also provide pre-wired test coupon racks, for use with various other coupon-based CAF test
patterns, or custom wired racks to the customer requirements.

High Voltage Testing
When running CAF tests at >300V, the Optional CLR1250 BRIDGE should be used. See Section 8.
