Bias Connection
The Bias connection should be “daisy chained” to the bias connection on each board and then connected to
the red bias lead supplied and plugged into the Bias 1 socket on the A

INTERLOCK
This socket must be connected to the safety interlock switch on the environmental
chamber, or linked out (see Bias Power Supply Connections photograph above)
The test boards are placed in the environmental test chamber with the free ends of the ribbon cable, which
include the IDC (insulation-displacement contact) connectors, and the power cables being fed through to
the outside of the environmental chamber and sealed.
Due to the numerous solder connections required to connect the test coupon to the A the setting
up of a test is a lengthy process and to this end the use of a pre-wired test rack is the quickest and easiest
way to connect test coupons in a fraction of the time. A test coupon employing a 1M
Ω
resistor for each
measurement channel is available for running continuity tests on the rack, which is useful for identifying any
faults in the test rack wiring before a lengthy test is undertaken.
