Replacing a device in alarm
You can replace a device while it is in alarm with a new device of the
same type. You may need to do this because the device is faulty or
for other troubleshooting reasons. If you replace a device while it is
in alarm, the following describes how the device and control panel
operate.
• When the device in alarm is removed, the control panel remains
in alarm and a trouble event is displayed.
• When the new device is installed, it does not go into alarm, but
a second trouble event is displayed on the control panel when it
detects the new device.
• When the control panel resolves the new device, the alarm
condition restores and the two trouble events clear on the
control panel.
Note:
If the device causing the alarm is reinstalled, the device goes
back into alarm and the alarm condition does not restore.
