14. Select “SPOT” mode. This mode controls the method of
dispensing glue. In “SPOT” mode the glue guns are
electronically cycled to dispense droplets of glue equally
spaced for a duration of time which determines the length of
glue dots on the side edges of the paper.
15. Select “DURATION” and enter the number of milliseconds
you want the side glue guns to remain on dispensing glue.
To develop duration time divide the glue line length needed
by actual conveyor speed. Example: 7.6”divided by 200” per
second = .038 . Drop the decimal point and the zero when
entering the number. You do this only with side glue
“DURATION”
16. Select “PITCH”. The pitch is the distance between glue dots
measured from the center of one dot to the center of the
next dot in millimeters. Enter pitch value.
17. Select “SPOT TIME”. This is the time the glue gun stays on
to dispense one spot of glue. The longer the time the larger
the dot. When running the machine at above 25,000 sheets
per hour the spot time should be between 0.6 and 0.7
milliseconds.

starting numbers. Each machine is a little different and
settings may vary.
