Using Windows Media Player
Playing CDs or DVDs
Use the Windows Media Player to listen to CDs or watch DVDs. For more information
about using Windows Media Player, click

To play a CD or DVD:

Insert a CD or DVD into the CD or DVD drive.

If a dialog box opens with a list of CD players or DVD players, click
Windows Media Player
. Windows Media Player opens.
- OR -
If a dialog box does not open with a list of CD players or DVD players, click
Start
,
All Programs
, then click
Windows Media Player
. Windows Media Player opens.
Important
Some music CDs have copy protection software. You may not be able
to play these CDs on your computer.
Important
To watch a DVD you must have a DVD drive in your computer. If you
do not have a DVD drive and would like to add an internal drive
(desktops) or external drive (desktops or notebooks), visit the
Accessory Store at
