6. Pour approx. 800ml water in the fondue pot. Place the fondue pot on the fondue
plate (see: ‘Operation / Getting Ready for Use’).
Ensure good ventilation.
7. Connect the appliance to a sufficient power supply (see: ‘Important Safeguards
for Electrical Appliances’). Turn both control dials to the maximum position, and
let the appliance heat at maximum temperature for 15-20 minutes (see: ‘Opera-
tion’). There is no need for concern, if a little harmless smoke and a burnt smell
are generated for a short while.
8. Turn both heating control dials back to the “MIN” position, unplug the appli-
ance, and let the appliance cool down to room temperature (at least 30
minutes).
IMPORTANT -
If the burnt smell persists on later use, clean the appliance (see:
‘Care and Cleaning’). If the burnt smell persists stubbornly even after thoroughly
cleaning the appliance, return the appliance to an authorized service centre for
examination and repair.
PREPARING THE NON-STICK COATING
WARNING
– Do not touch the surfaces of the appliance, while the appli-
ance is still hot! Switch OFF (both control dials to “MIN”), unplug and
let the
appliance cool down to room temperature
, before touching the grilling plate or
fondue pot.
9. Ensure that the grilling plate, raclette dishes, and fondue pot are cold. Spread
some droplets of cooking oil on the upper side of the grilling plate and the inte-
rior of the fondue pot and raclette dishes. Use a clean kitchen towel for distribu-
ting the cooking oil. Wipe off surplus oil.

operate the appliance near any inflammable materials or liquids.
Food may catch
fire, when over-heated:
Do not heat fat and oil, until smoke is produced. Do not
attempt to extinguish burning oil with water.

during operation of the appliance.
