Problem
Possible Reasons
The Easy Solution
You attempt to seal
liquids or very moist or
hot food. Too much eva-
porated liquid prevents the
reduction of pressure.
Always leave hot food cool down to room temperature
before vacuum sealing. Cut off the upper rim and wipe
the top of the bag clean and dry, before trying again. It
may help to remove some food from the bag, thus lea-
ving some more free space on top of the bag. This way,
liquids and powders will not be sucked out so easily. Very
moist food may be placed into the freezer (approx. for
1 hour), before vacuum sealing. Place a folded piece of
kitchen towel onto the food for sucking off liquids. Start
the appliance via the moist food button or use the pulse
function.
The vacuum gaskets on
the lid and base of the
appliance are polluted,
worn out, or damaged.
Carefully clean the vacuum gaskets via a soft damp cloth.
For this,
carefully dab the vacuum gaskets. Do
not rub!
Ensure that the vacuum gaskets are placed
correctly around the vacuum chamber. If the problem per-
sists, send the appliance to an authorized Service centre
for examination and repair.
The bag or foil melts or is
ripped at the seal.
You have used improper
foils or bags.
Only use foils and bags suitable for vacuum sealers and/
or foil sealing appliances.
The sealing time is too
long.
Reduce the sealing time.
The heating bar is too hot
during the sealing process.
After each sealing process, wait approx. 20 seconds with
the lid open, before starting the next sealing cycle.
The appliance may be
overheated.
Switch off (pressing the stop button) and unplug the
appliance and leave the appliance cool down for approx.
20 minutes.
The container is not eva-
cuated.
The vacuum hose is not
connected properly.
Ensure that the correct end of the vacuum hose is pushed
properly onto the vacuum port of the appliance. Ensure
that the connection of the vacuum hose to the vacuum
port of the container lid is airtight.
The vacuum hose is
blocked or damaged.
You may try to clear the vacuum hose by blowing out the
obstacle. If this is not successful, contact your vendor for
replacement.
The seals of the vacuum
container are not airtight.
Ensure that the lid seal of the container and the rim of the con-
tainer and container lid are completely clean and dry, before
vacuum sealing. Ensure that the sealing area is not brittle or
worn. If required, replace the seal. Use another container.
