The drilling-maschine is equipped with a seed-cover harrow
made of a load bearing bar, on which there are more parallely
hinged tooth-holder segments.
The teeth are elastic with a bent profile to allow the stubles to
flow free in the earth. The end parts of the teeth are folded at
apposite angles to help cover the furrow with the earth that is
raised. The inclination of the bar can be slightly varied according
to the condition of the soil and the quantity of stubbles, loosening
the brackets of the main bar (Fig. 15).
WARNING
Lower the seed-covering harrow to the work position when
the machine is hoisted. When transporting on public roads,
fold the harrow into its transport position and lock it in place
using the safety pin.
3.2.7 SEED LEVEL IN THE HOPPER
The level of seed in the hopper can be easily controlled by the
operator from the driver’s seat by checking the indicator (Fig. 16).
3.2.8 SEED DISCHARGE FROM THE HOPPER
Proceed as follows to discharge the seeds from the hopper:
- Extract the lock pin (1 Fig. 17) and, using the handle, move the
seed collectors support (2) in the direction of the arrow.
- Release the seed-test trays (Fig. 18) and position them beneath
the seed discharge mouths.
- for large quantities, it is advisable to use the crank on the gear
shift to rotate the agitator shaft to better control seed flow into
the bins. To empty small amounts of seed, shift the doser lever
beyond position 10 (Fig. 8).
- After seed discharge has been completed, return the trays,
rack, and dosage adjustment lever to their initial work positions.
3.2.9 BEFORE STARTING WORK
Before starting the seeding operation grease all parts indicated
by transfer nr. 11 (‘GRASE’) at page 19 of this leaflet.
3.2.10 OPERATION START
IMPORTANT
For a successful seeding work it is useful to seed on a small
stretch and check that the seeds are regularly distributed in the
ground.
3.2.11 DURING WORK
Bear in mind that a variation in tractor speed does not lead to a
corresponding variation in seed sown per hectare.
Always respect the following rules for successful sowing:
- Keep the hydraulic lifting device in the lowest position.
- Check at times that the operating parts are not covered with
vegetable residual matter or clogged by earth
- Check that the distributor is clean, and prevent any external
matter (no seed) accidentally fallen into the hopper from
hampering the smooth seeding operation.
- Check in any case that the grain tubes are not clogged
- Maintain a seeding speed compatible with type and cultivation
of the soil.
- Periodically check the results of seeding.
