5.2.21 TAWS AUDIO CONFIG Page 1
(Only if TAWS is installed)

Select the TAWS AUDIO CONFIG Page 1 (see Figure 5-
24). This page allows configuration of TAWS audio.

5.2.21.1 VOICE Field

Selection Description
Female

Select the female voice to annunciate TAWS alerts. (Default)

Male

Select the male voice to annunciate TAWS alerts.

5.2.21.2 PLAY MSG Field

The

PLAY MSG

field allows the playback of all the individual TAWS alert messages. It does not control

the configuration of the messages in any manner.

5.2.21.3 AUDIO Field

Selection Description
Message

When configured for this option, each TAWS alert message is played
by itself. (Default)

5.2.21.4 VOLUME Field

The

VOLUME

field sets the volume of the TAWS alerts from 0% volume (left side) to 100% volume

(right side). The default value is 60% of the maximum value. The TAWS volume needs to be set so as to
ensure that aural alerts are audible under all anticipated noise environmental conditions. Refer to section
5.3.10 for the TAWS Audio Check procedure.

5.2.21.5 PDA-CAUTION Field

Selection Description
Too Low - Terrain

Sets the Premature Descent Rate (PDA) cautionary alert to the
specified text. (Default)

5.2.21.6 EDR-CAUTION Field

Selection Description
Sink Rate

Sets the Excessive Descent Rate (EDR) cautionary alert to the
specified text. (Default)
