The Fishfinder 240 comes with a built-in simulator mode
that will allow the user to practice and learn the operation of
the unit at home rather than on the water.
Simulator
To start the simulator mode, simply
turn the unit on without a transducer
installed. As the unit powers on, the
display will indicate that the unit is
running in the simulator mode by dis-
playing a bar across the bottom of the
display. Press the
E
key to proceed.
The unit will display a random bot-
tom scene and the unit can be con-
trolled just as if it were on the water.
The unit can be configured to act as if a variety of transduc-
ers are installed while in the simulator mode. To select a specif-
ic transducer, press
S
to activate the
Setup Menu. Highlight the Tools tab,
then press the
R
key to place the
highlight on the selection fields. Press
either the
U
or
D
key and place the
highlight on the Sim Transducer field.
Press
E
, highlight the desired selec-
tion and press
E
again to accept. To
exit the simulator mode, turn the unit
off.
