Start-up
After the proper installation of the KVM extenders they can be immediately put into
operation.
Mind the following activation sequence when starting the modules:
1. Turn on the console module
DP1.2-Vision-IP-Fiber-CON
.
2. Turn on the computer module
DP1.2-Vision-IP-Fiber-CPU
.
3. Turn on the computer that is connected to the computer module.
Starting process
After the computer module and the console module are turned on, the LEDs on the
front panel show the module’s operating status.

Operation
The computer connected to the computer module (
DP1.2-Vision-IP-CPU
) can be oper-
ated at the remote console of the console module as well as at the local console of
the computer module.
After their initiation, both consoles are enabled to operate the computer.
NOTE:
The recommended activation sequence ensures that the KVM extenders
are able to read out the features of the connected monitor and to transmit them to
the computer (see
DDC transmission with cache function
IMPORTANT:
The OpenAccess operating mode is set by
default
. In this operating
mode, access to the KVM extender is
not
protected by authentication. Information
on the operating modes can be found in chapter
Operating modes of console modules
NOTE:
The monitors of the remote and the local console of the KVM extender
always
display the same image at the same time.

ting can be changed.
NOTE:
The connection between the computer module and the console module is
established automatically after the modules are started.
