12 Maintenance
Read, understand and follow the instructions for use before commencing any maintenance work.
Tasks indicated require a specific technical knowledge and/or special competence, therefore they must be
carried out only by qualified, and adequately trained personnel.
After any replacement of parts, check correct operation of the device(s) by running again the functionality
test and the test procedure.

the safety device is to be kept in good efficient working conditions according with the
manufacturer’s instructions.
In order to assure long operating life of GAMMA SYSTEM pressure-sensitive bumpers, the following
instructions should be observed
:
Remove any possible foreign bodies or sharp-edge parts which may come into contact with the
bumper during motion or at the end of the travel. .
Do not use the bumper for stopping its travel. The bumper ONLY provides a safety function. With
the gate or bulkhead closed, the bumper must not be crushed.
In case of deep cuts and/or abrasions, the sensor should be sent to GAMMA SYSTEM for repair and
verification that the internal contacts have not been damaged.
GAMMA SYSTEM pressure-sensitive bumpers are resistant to all common mineral oils or emulsions used in
the workshop and to all chemical cleaning products (see chemical compatibility table).
While doing cleaning operations with plenty of water, do not direct prolonged water jets on the cable outlet
zones.
Any non-immediately identifiable fault/anomaly is to be notified to GAMMA SYSTEM.
12.1 Periodical Maintenance
Periodical inspections are to be carried out on the safety device. Maintenance interventions must not exceed
the interval time indicated below.
Every month:
Check correct working of the sensor by performing a functional test.
Check the sensor cleanliness status.
Every 3 months:
Check wearing or deformations of the SENSOR and verify that it correctly seats on the support
profile.
Inspect the machine to make sure there are no other mechanical or structural aspects which could
prevent the machine stoppage or prevent any other safety function from taking place after the
machine stoppage caused by the safety bumper
