Operation of Remote Units Via the Controller:
Once an RTU is connected and communicates with the controller it can be immediately
used if any of its I/O elements are defined. Nevertheless, the Open Field software consists
of a mechanism which enables you to view each RTU status and define which are supposed
to be connected and should alert upon disconnecting. (See CRTU definitions in the Open
Field Manual).
Defining Inputs and Outputs for Remote Units:.
Remote Unit Tester
The Remote Unit Tester is a tool that assists in the establishment and maintenance of
the remote unit system. The Tester enables inspection of the proper working order of
communication and the switch definitions of the unit independently of the entire system.
The Tester makes it easier to isolate and locate a fault or failure.
