AUDIO : *1*2*3 :

• Sets the audio language.

language of the disc.)

SUBTITLE : *1*2*3 :

• Sets the subtitle language.
• The default setting is “OFF”.

DISC MENU :*1*2 :

• Sets the DVD menu language.
• The default setting is “ENGLISH”.

PLAYER MENU :

• Sets the language of the On-Screen display of the DVD 

player.

• The default setting is “ENGLISH”.

Note:

*1 : If “OTHER” is selected in the “AUDIO”, “SUBTITLE” 

or “DISC MENU” screen, press 4-digit number to enter 
the code for a language you choose. (Refer to the 
language code list on page 25.)

*2 : Only the languages supported by the disc can be selected.
*3 : Even if DVDs contain multiple audio or subtitle 

languages, “LANGUAGE” setting screen for “AUDIO” 
or “SUBTITLE” may not be available with some discs.

Audio Setting

Choose the appropriate audio settings for your equipment. It 
only affects during the playback of DVDs.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control) :

ON: to compress the sound range.
OFF: to output an original sound range.
• This function is only available on DVDs recorded in the 

Dolby Digital format.

• The default setting is “ON”.

DOWN SAMPLING :

ON: to convert 96kHz format into 48kHz.
OFF: to output the original sound.
• This function is only available when this unit is connected 

to another source using one of  the DIGITAL OUT jacks.

• When playing a disc with copyright protection, the sound 

will be down sampled at 48kHz, even if you set to “OFF”.

• The default setting is “ON”.

DOLBY DIGITAL :

ON  : to output Dolby Digital signals.
OFF : to convert Dolby Digital signals to PCM (2 channel) 

signals.

• Set to “ON” when this unit is connected to a Dolby Digital 

decoder.

• The default setting is “ON”.

DTS : 

ON : to output DTS sound
OFF : not to output DTS sound.
• Set to “ON” when this unit is connected to a DTS decoder.
• The default setting is “OFF”.

MPEG : 

ON : to output MPEG formatted sound.
OFF : to convert MPEG signals to PCM signals.
• Set to “ON” when this unit is connected to a MPEG 

decoder.

• The default setting is “OFF”.
