The MAC address can be found on the type label attached to the
system board or network controller.
Example:
In order to modify the definition file for network controller 1, enter the
following command:
# vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1

, specify the new MAC address as follows:
HWADDR=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Save and close the definition file.
Ê
For the changes to take effect, you need to reboot the network by entering
the following command:
# service network restart

If the system board or network controller offers multiple LAN ports, it is
necessary to update the remaining
ifcfg-eth<x>
definition files
accordingly.

Update the NIC configuration file to reflect the new card sequence and MAC
address.

Enabling BitLocker functionality
If BitLocker Drive Encryption has been disabled for maintenance purposes (see
section
"Disabling BitLocker functionality" on page 63
), it has to be re-enabled
to complete the service task.

If BitLocker Drive Encryption has been disabled prior to replacing
components you won't be asked for a recovery key when rebooting the
server after the maintenance task. However, if BitLocker functionality has
not been disabled, Windows will enter recovery mode and ask you to
input recovery key for further booting.
