Backup Units
The Backup Unit backs up the memory contents of the connected SAS RAID
controller in the event of a power failure.
The server offers different backup units depending on the used RAID controller:
– BBU (Battery Backup Unit)
– FBU (Flash Backup Unit)

Preliminary steps
Before installing a BBU, perform the following steps:

Disable boot watchdog functionality as described in section

Shut down the defective server as described in section

Disconnect the AC power cord from the system.
Ê
Remove the server cover as described in section
