Cancelling supervisor/user password
Password Password
If you cancel the supervisor password, you automatically deactivate the user password.
To cancel the supervisor/user password (without setting a new password):
► Open
BIOS Setup
and select the
Security
menu.
► Highlight the
Set Supervisor Password
or
Set User Password
fi eld and press the Enter key.
You are asked to enter the current password:
Current Password
► Enter the password and press the Enter key.
► Press the Enter key twice.
► From the
Exit
menu, choose the option
Save Changes & Exit
.
The device is rebooted and the supervisor/user password is cancelled.

Requirement: The supervisor password is installed.
This fi eld de fi nes the effect of the supervisor password (see also "Assigning
and cancelling passwords ", Page 39 ).
Standard
The supervisor password prevents unauthorized opening of the
BIOS-Setup
utility.
Extended
The supervisor password prevents unauthorized opening of the
BIOS-Setup
utility
and locks the keyboard during the device initialisation phase. This prevents
unauthorized access to settings for installed boards with a BIOS of their own.
