Setting the Password for Authority as the Printer
Administrator
For SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 and 11, you must set the password for authority as the printer
administrator to do operations as the printer administrator.
• For SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10

and select
Konsole
on the Application Browser.

Enter the following command in the terminal window.

Enter the following command in the terminal window.
su
(Enter the administrator password)
lppasswd -g sys -a root
(Enter the password for authority as the printer administrator
after the Enter password prompt.)
(Reenter the password for authority as the printer administrator
after the Enter password again prompt.)
su
(Enter the administrator password)
lppasswd -g sys -a root
(Enter the password for authority as the printer administrator
after the Enter password prompt.)
(Reenter the password for authority as the printer administrator
after the Enter password again prompt.)
