3.8 Freezer Thermostat Adjustment
1)
Open freezer door and confirm Freezer Compartment
has been defrosted, per Store-Closing Procedure
outlined in F3Dn Operating Manual. Close freezer door.
2)
Open the top/right side louvered access panel [lift up and
pull-out] and verify the condenser coil filter is clean and
there isn’t dust and debris around the condenser coil.
3)
Using a medium Phillips screwdriver, remove the two
screws from top of Control Panel.
4)
Tilt panel forward to access thermostat, which is
mounted to the side of an electric chase behind and
running perpendicular to the control panel.
IMPORTANT:
Support weight of control panel while adjusting
thermostat. Do NOT allow panel to dangle from ribbon
cables and wiring harness.

Note
: The factory thermostat setting is 5, which results in
a freezer compartment temperature of 0 to -10
°
F [-18 to
-23
°
C], at average ambient room temperatures.
6)
If the steady state freezer operating temperature is 5
°
F
[-15
°
C] or higher, adjust thermostat down (turn
clockwise toward “colder”) in ½ unit increments, as
required. [Most adjustments will be “colder” to lower
operating temperatures because of high ambient room
temperatures and humidity.]
7)
Allow the freezer temperature to stabilize after each
incremental adjustment. Repeat as needed until target
operating temperature range is reached.
8)
If steady state freezer operating temperature is -15
°
F [-

°
C] or below (too cold), adjust thermostat up (turn
counterclockwise toward “warmer”) in ½ unit increments,
as required. [Allow the freezer temperature to stabilize
after each increment adjustment.]
9)
Assuming Main Power is ON, allow the compressor to
operate until it cycles off. Check freezer compartment
temperature. If in the 0 to -10
°
F [-18 to -23
°
C] range, no
further adjustments are necessary.

verify it has been defrosted.

Remove two control panel
screws to access thermostat.

Unit ships from factory with
thermostat preset at 5.
Gradually increase this setting
toward 9, in ½ unit increments,
to lower freezer compartment
temperature.

: If trying to raise freezer steady state temperature,
open freezer door to dump cold air, close door and allow
freezer to regain steady state temperature.
