"IPERESPRESSO" CAPSULES
The Francis Francis for illy X2.1 espresso machine must only be used with the "Iperespresso" illy capsules for professional use.
The system is easy and practical to use and offers the following advantages:
• the assurance of an illy espresso;
• a dense crema that lasts for over 15 minutes;
• no contact between the appliance and the coffee extracted;
• increased cleanliness and hygiene of the appliance;
• reduced maintenance of the appliance.
IMPORTANT SAFETY MEASURES
Read the instructions carefully.
When using electrical appliances, always observe the following safety measures:
• The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, mental or sensory abilities or with scarce experience and/or expertise, un-
less they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or they are instructed by this person on how to properly use the machine. Prevent children from
playing with the machine.
• This machine is designed “to brew espresso” and “to heat up beverages”: Pay attention not to scald yourself with jets of hot water or steam or through improper
use of the machine.
• Do not use the appliance for purposes other than those for which it is intended. The manufacturer cannot be responsible for any damages deriving from improper,
wrong or unreasonable use.
• After removing the packing make sure that the appliance is undamaged. In case of doubt, do not use the appliance and contact a qualifi ed technician.
• Never install the appliance in a room in which the temperature can reach or drop below 0°C (32°F) (if the water freezes, the appliance can be damaged) or
which can exceed 40°C (104°F).
• Check that mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on data plate of the appliance. Connect the appliance only to a outlet with a minimum capacity of 16A
powered at 230Vac and that is grounded and complies with the regulations.
• The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any accidents caused by the failure to observe or non-conformity to the current legislation as regards the ground-
ing system.
• In case of incompatibility between the socket and the appliance's plug, have the plug replaced with another one of a suitable type by an authorised service centre.
• To prevent damages to the appliance or to persons do not place the power cord in dangerous areas.
• The appliance should be installed:
- in a place where the appliance can only be used and serviced by trained personnel.
- on a fl at surface, in a ventilated room and away from water taps and sinks.
• It is forbidden to install / use the appliance:
- outdoors.
- on electric or gas stoves, or inside a hot oven.
- if the power cord or the plug are damaged, if the appliance shows signs of malfunctioning or is damaged. Return the appliance to the closest authorised dis-
tributor for the due checks.
- in areas in which jets of water might be used.
• Never touch a hot surface.
• The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer can cause fi re, electric shocks or injuries to persons.
• In case of failure or malfunctioning of the appliance, switch it off and do not tamper with it. All repairs that may be required must be carried out by a Technical
Service Centre authorized by the manufacturer. Failure to respect what is mentioned above may compromise the safety of the appliance.
• In order to safeguard yourself from fi re, electric shocks or injury, never immerse the power cord, the plug or the machine in water or in any other liquid.
• Before removing the plug from the socket, make sure that the main switch (A) is off (in the up position).
• Remove the plug from the wall socket when:
- the appliance is not being used;
- it is being cleaned;
- the water tank is being fi lled.
• Allow the appliance to cool before adding or removing any accessories and before cleaning.
• The appliance must never be washed with jets of water.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or place it in a dishwasher.
• The machine is fi tted with a heated top that functions as a cup warmer to keep the cups at the perfect temperature.

• THE CUP WARMING SURFACE CAN REACH HIGH TEMPERATURES.
• DO NOT TOUCH THE CUP WARMING SURFACE WITH ANY PART OF YOUR BODY.
• DO NOT COVER THE MACHINE OR THE CUP WARMING SURFACE WITH TOWELS OR ANY OTHER COVERING ITEMS.
