Reference - Guiding -> Guide Star Data tab view
This view shows the results of the guide star position calculations by the program. The
program uses a centroid calculation algorithm with an aperture mask within the guider
camera picture. The Guide Star Region Mask is a rectangular region within which the
program searches for the guide star centroid. The mask is used in order to keep the
algorithm from getting confused when more than one bright star is captured in the im-
ages by the guide camera. Normally, you would define this region by drawing a box
around the guide star while holding down the <control> key in the Guide Camera Image
Window. You can however, manually enter the coordinates of the rectangle
’
s corner
points in this view.
