CLOCK
CLOCK SOURCE
ClkSrc Get the current clock source. A value of 0 to 5 is returned, with the value
indicating the source of the system clock. The values returned are:
0: This indicates the battery-backed clock has failed or is not
present and the time in the logger is likely to be incorrect.
1: The time was set by the user, either through the display or
by telemetry.
2: The time was set from the battery-backed clock.
3: The time has been set from the GPS Clock in the
telemetry unit.
4: The time has been set from the TGT high accuracy clock.
This implies that the GPS has failed and the logger has
switched to the next most accurate clock. This only applies if
the G3 is being used.
5: The GPS clock has failed and the logger was unable to
use the TGT clock. The logger is using its internal crystal.
Note:
The behaviour of the logger will vary with the telemetry setting. If a
non-GPS device is attached, then at power-up the unit will only
display 2 or 0. If the telemetry device has GPS, the logger may cycle
through several of these values shortly after starting up, as it searches
for the GPS. In this case, initially the clock source will be 2, then a
minute or two later will switch to 3 when the GPS has acquired a
suitable signal. 0 should never be seen, and 4 and 5 will be rare. If the
logger does not use GOES, but just FTS telemetry, then 3, 4, 5 will
never be seen. 1 and 2 will be the normal values, depending on past
history.
