Battery Specifications
WARNING

Use of any other battery type voids your warranty. Do not store batteries in an
environment over 60 degrees Celsius or 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Lithium-Polymer internal batteries (7.4V 5200mAH) should be replaced every five years
with a Firelinx-approved battery (go to
www.firelinx.com
to purchase). With normal use,
batteries should last 8-12 hours. For best battery performance, store at 40% to 50% battery
capacity. Do not store the unit plugged into the charger. A second battery pack may also
be installed if needed. If a second battery is installed, there will not be enough room to install
an Open Pyro Network (OPN) expansion card.
Replace/Add Additional Battery
Follow steps 1-4 below. To replace the battery carefully disconnect the 2-position connector
my pressing the key tab to disengage the connector lock and gently pull/wiggle the
connector to remove it. Place the new battery, loop Velcro side down onto the Velcro hook
patch to secure the battery to the enclosure bottom. Plug the new battery 2-position
connector into the PCB connector marked battery, making sure to locate the key tab lock
on the battery connector to the key tab on the PCB connector.
To add a second battery to the enclosure, follow steps 1-4 below. Remove the adhesive
back from the piece of hook Velcro and apply it to the bottom of the enclosure to the right
of the existing battery. Attach the new battery loop Velcro side down onto the Velcro hook
patch to secure the battery to the enclosure bottom. Plug the new battery 2-position
connector into the PCB connector marked battery making sure to locate the key tab lock
on the battery connector to the key tab on the PCB connector. For the CM remove the
screw caps and enclosure screws, open the same way as the FM. Remove the PCB
screws and remove and replace the battery the same way as the FM unit.
Installing/Replacing Components
To install an OPN expansion card or install/replace a battery or other component, the outer
case must be opened according to the following procedure:
