1.3 Connection to the power supply, switching on and off
Boiler not electrically powered
A
To avoid damage caused by freezing during long idle periods in winter, it is advisable to
drain all the water from the boiler.
Boiler electrically powered
Switch on the power to the boiler.
• During the first 5 seconds a screen appears giving the PCB firmware versions at the bottom.
• For the next 300 seconds the screen shows the progress of the heating system air venting
cycle.
• At the end of the venting process, check that the gas cock ahead of the boiler is open.
To prevent the air venting cycle during boiler ignition, press and hold the words
"BLUEHELIX MA-
XIMA”
(about 10 seconds) until the main screen appears.
Activation of boiler operating modes
Heating can be enabled or disabled using the ON/OFF button (16 in fig. 1). When both are disa-
bled (15 and 16 in fig. 1) the boiler is off but still electrically powered.
With the heating mode deactivated the frost protection function still remains active.
B
The frost protection system does not work when the power
and/or gas to the unit are turned off. To avoid damage
caused by freezing during long shutdowns in winter, it is
advisable to drain all water from the boiler, the DHW circuit
and the heating system water; or drain just the DHW cir-
cuit and add a suitable antifreeze to the heating system,
as prescribed in sec. 2.3.
1.4 Adjustments
Enable/Disable the DHW function
By touching the control
“B”
(fig. 2 and fig. 3) it is possible to enable (
) or disable
(
) DHW. Disabling DHW also automatically inhibits the heating function.
