3.2 Rack mounting
To install the
DPU
amplifi ers in a 19” rack cabinet, it is necessary to use the supporting modules-cage provided for this purpose. Each modules-
cage can contain up to four amplifi ers. Make sure you follow the instructions given below carefully to install the modules-cages inside the rack
cabinets properly:
3.
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION
3.1 General criteria
In order to allow the equipment to work correctly, it is advisable to comply with a number of general criteria when making the connections:
- Avoid positioning cables or microphones on the cabinet of the equipment.
- Avoid laying the signal lines parallel to the power-supply lines. Keep a minimum distance of 30/40 cm.
- Position the input and output lines at a distance from one another.
- In order to avoid acoustic feedback (the Larsen effect), position the microphones out of the angle of coverage of the loudspeakers.
-
the supporting modules-cage for the amplifi ers (see fi gure 3.2.1) must always be mounted on the supporting brackets provided for this purpose
(detail [
A
]) included in the supply.
-
a ventilation panel occupying at least one rack unit must always be mounted between one modules-cage and the next, or between a modules-
cage and any other equipment mounted in the same rack. If only one modules-cage is installed in the rack, the upper ventilation panel may
be omitted.
To mount an amplifi er in the modules-cage it is necessary to secure the amplif er to the modules-cage following the mounting instructions attached
to the latter. To fi x the rear side, use the screw(s) (detail [
A
]) as illustrated in Figure 3.2.2.
3.3 Signal and serial communication connections
To RJ45 sockets (
13
) are available on the rear panel. Their connections
are in parallel with one another to enable audio connections at line level
and for serial communications.
AUDIO inputs 1 and 2 are electronically balanced.

3.4 Power outputs
A terminal strip (

) is available for connection to the loudspeaker lines – see Fig. 3.4.1.
The terminal strip (
11
), on the other hand, is for use for connecting a stand-by amplifi er, if required (Fig. 3.4.2).
