6.3.3. Switch-off time [3]

As the system is usually run on battery power, it is reasonable to save battery capacity whenever possible.
Therefore, the operator can set the time period when the device is switched off automatically unless in
use. This switch-off time ranges from 1 minute up to 60 minutes.  This features increases battery life and
thus the operating period of the system.
The configuration process complies with the setting process for the date and the time of day as described
in Chapter 6.3.1.

6.3.4. Lighting [4]

The brightness level for the display lighting can be adjusted individually on a scale ranging from
0% to 100%. The scale has two colored sections indicating the impact of the brightness level on the
energy consumption and thus on the battery’s operating period.
If the brightness level is chosen from within the green section, the operational period of the battery is
maximal. The red section indicates reduced operating time of the device.
The brightness can be changed by turning the right dial. The setting menu can be left either by pressing
the dial, or by pressing the

”Cancel“ key, or by tapping the door icon on the screen.

6.3.5. Frequency range/Geophone [5]

Every  acoustic  leakage  detection  measurement  mode  offers  two  pre-selected  filters  (ground
microphone  and  testrod)  and  also  a  user-defined  filter  selection  to  be  applied  directly.  These
settings can be determined in the

Frequency range

setting menu.

High-pass filters (HP) and low-pass filter (TP) as well as the maximum range of the frequency spectrum
can be adjusted. The maximum frequency range available for the geophone mode is 4,000Hz. The
configuration process complies with the setting process for the date and the time of day as described in
Chapter 6.3.1.

6.3.6. Hearing protection [6]

The Lokal 400 leakage detection device features an automatic noise level absorber. This function
ensures that the requirements for Hearing Protection as per VBG 121 (VGB

– German Association

of Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention) are fully met when operating the
original headphones (part of the delivery). For individual adjustment of the noise level, the LOKAL 400
device offers a scale ranging from 1 (relatively low noise level) to 3 (maximum noise level), with any setting
still being in full compliance with VGB 121 requirements.
The configuration process complies with the setting process for the date and the time of day as described
in Chapter 6.3.1.

6.3.7. Touch screen [7]

With this setting option, the operator can de-activate the touch screen, calibrate it, or run a functional test
on the screen. Use the dial on the right to navigate to the requested selection field and confirm your
selection by pressing the dial.
If On/Off has been selected, the touch screen function can be activated and de-activated respectively by
pressing the dial. Please note that if the touch function has been de-activated any input can be made
through the dial only !
If the touch function of the LCD display does no longer work properly (e.g. a menu item can only be
selected by tapping beside the symbol), it may be necessary to calibrate the touch function. If you need
to do so, please follow the instructions as displayed and tap on the spots as indicated in the instructions.
After this reset, the touch function should work properly again.
