8.2.2 Measurement procedure
–
Smart mode
Pressing the data reception key or the press button located on the handle of the microphone will start a
measurement procedure. The measurement will be continued as long as the operator keeps the
key/press button pressed. When the key/press button is released, the current measurement process is
stopped and saved.
The measurement indication window is capable of displaying a measurement series of the six most
recent single measurements as well as the current measurement. The current measurement consists of
the boxes “Lowest noise level numerical” (7), ”Lowest noise level graphical“(5), Smart indicator numerical
(8), and Smart indicator graphical (6).
The history displays the most recent noise levels on the positions 1 through 6. The first saved
measurement is displayed on position 1, and every new measurement shifts the preceding measurement
to the right. As soon as the sixth position has been filled, the oldest measurement (on position 6) will be
deleted and will be replaced. The most recent measurement will be displayed on position 1.
The Smart mode offers the dual-bar visualization of the following information for every measurement:
The wide bar indicator on the left (1) shows the noise amplitude on a level scale ranging from 0 to
100. The grey bar indicator shows the measured minimum value, i.e. the lowest noise relevant for
leakage detection. This value is also displayed beneath the bar chart in a numerical way (3).
The narrow bar indicator on the right (2) shows the Smart indicator. A high Smart indicator value
represents a highly reliable leakage statement. In addition, the Smart indicator indicates by color the
frequency which is applied for the calculation of the indicator.
As a rule of thumb, you can say: “The closer
the leakage, the higher is the Smart indicator bar and the brighter is its color
.“
