4/CHECKING THE CHARGING LEVEL OF THE BOOSTER:
Check that the BOOSTER is disconnected
from its charger. For 12 Volts Booster, check that the BOOSTER is disconnected
from its cigar lighter connector
For 12 Volt Boosters (B12-1A and B12-2A):
Press
the yellow « Test » button on the BOOSTER
•
If one or two green LED are lit,
the booster is appropriately
charged
or still connected to the charger. In this case,
disconnect the charger to check the booster’s charging level.
• If
a single yellow LED is lit,
the booster
can be used once,
although it will not deliver its entire power.
• If only
one or two red LEDs are lit, recharge the booster immediately and do not use it.
For 24 Volt Boosters (B24.1 and B24.2):
Press
the yellow « Test » button on the BOOSTER
• If the
voltage is in the RED sector
(<24V),
recharge the booster immediately and do not use it.
• If the
voltage is in the YELLOW sector
(>24V and <24.8V), the
booster may be used,
although it will not deliver its
full power. Recharge it as soon as possible.
• If the
voltage is in the GREEN sector
(>24.8 and <26.2), the
booster is charged.
It is recommended to leave it
charging permanently.
5/ USING THE BOOSTER:
For 12 Volt Boosters (B12.1A and B12.2A):
Check the booster’s charging level. The yellow LED at least must be lit when the test button is pressed. The green led must be
lit for the Booster to deliver its full power.
For 24 Volt Boosters (B24.1 and B24.2):
Check the booster’s charging level. The voltage must exceed 24V when the test button is pressed. To deliver better performance,
the voltmeter must be in the green sector.
For all Boosters, 12V and 24V:
- Check the power switch is set to
OFF
.
- Check that the booster is secured and will not move.
- Connect the red « positive terminal » clamp to the positive terminal on the vehicle.
- Connect the black « negative terminal » clamp to the negative terminal on the vehicle.
- If the alarm buzzes, this means that polarities were reversed.
- Switch the power switch to
ON.
- Do not await! Start immediately the vehicle.
Never activate the starter for more than 8 seconds consecutively.
Wait
for
two minutes between each starting attempt.
- Immediately once the vehicle’s engine is running,
disconnect the BOOSTER starting with the negative terminal
(black clamp).
Then disconnect the positive terminal (red clamp).
- Return the clamps to their holders with cables wound.
- Switch the power switch to
OFF.
- Charge the booster as soon as possible.
6/ USING THE BOOSTER WITH THEE « CIGAR LIGHTER » CABLE:
For 12 Volt Boosters (models B12.1A and B12.2A):
Connect the BOOSTER to a vehicle by means of the cigar lighter cable to:
- Top up the BOOSTER’s charge between two uses. This charging mode does not replace continuous charging using the charger
supplied with your FACOM booster.
- Supply a vehicle via an accessory connector.
BEFORE PROCEEDING, CHECK THE VEHICLE IS COMPATIBLE WITH THIS USE.
DO NOT CONNECT A 12 VOLT VEHICLE TO A 24 VOLT BOOSTER THROUGH A « CIGAR LIGHTER » CONNECTOR.
DO NOT CONNECT A 24 VOLT BOOSTER TO A 12 VOLT VEHICLE THROUGH A « CIGAR LIGHTER » CONNECTOR.
