SIS Configuration
and Control
The PowerCage 401 can be configured and controlled with Extron Simple Instruction Set
(SIS) commands. This section describes the communication between a connected host
computer or other control device (such as a control system) and the device. Topics include:

Commands can be entered from a host computer running the Extron DataViewer utility, or
the HyperTerminal utility, or other control system. The DataViewer utility is available at
(see the
DataViewer Help
file for more details).
Host and PowerCage 401 Communication
SIS commands consist of one or more characters per field. No special characters are
required to begin or end a command sequence. Commands can be entered
back-to-back in a string with no spaces. When the PowerCage 401 determines that a
command is valid, it executes the command and sends a response to the host device. All
responses from the PowerCage 401 to the host end with a carriage return and a line feed
(CR/LF =

), indicating the end of the response character string (one or more characters).
