Defining a B Value
Defining a B Value
The B value is a correction factor. It can be used to correct a systematic
calibration deviance for any wavelength in the wavelength list.
For additional information on the B value, please refer to
X+B Mode
on
page 37.
To define a B value for a specific wavelength,
1.
Click on the
B settings
button in the main window.
This opens the
B
Settings
window shown below.
2.
Highlight the appropriate
λ
value/B value
line.
3.
Double-click on the
New B value
edit box.
4.
Enter the numeric B value.
Note:
B values between -99.999 dB and 99.999 dB may be entered.
5.
Select the
dB
or
dBm
radio button. This determines whether the B and
X+B values are displayed in dB or dBm.

Select
dB
when X+B represents a system loss.
➤
Select
dBm
when X+B represents a power level.
6.
Click on
Confirm Entry.
7.
Click on
OK
to close the
B Settings
window.
Note:
To close the
B Settings
window without recording the current changes, click
on
Cancel.
