Setting up Your IQ-3100 and/or IQ-3300

Variable Attenuator/Variable Reflector

Selecting a Display Mode

Absolute Mode

By default,

Absolute

mode is selected upon initial activation.

When in

Absolute

mode, the total attenuation or reflection introduced by

the module is displayed in the data display. The absolute value and the
offset value are also taken into account.

MPORTANT

For the IQ-3100, the total or absolute attenuation referred to in this
manual is the actual optical insertion loss between the input and
output ports, including the connectors.

In the figure below, the IQ-3100 BW Variable Attenuator is set in the

Absolute

mode.
