Mechanism
▪
Arms/gears are broken

Motor is broken
▪
Cables are not plugged in
▪
User Interface malfunction
▪
Power is not connected
▪
Check on/inspect the structure
▪
Inspect motor
▪
Inspect cable connections, if loose
make sure to secure
▪
Unplug device, plug back in
▪
Switch device off, and back on
▪
Ensure all connections are secure
▪
If problem persists the COVID Client
Coordinator should be contacted
–
device will require servicing.
BVM not
inflating
▪
Worn out BVM
▪
Clog in circuit
▪
Mechanical malfunction
▪
Replace the BVM
Alarm light is
on, but the
buzzer is off
▪
Buzzer is broken
▪
User Interface is malfunctioning
▪
Alarm Silence was pressed
▪
If safe to do so, wait two minutes for
the alarm silence to reset
▪
Unplug device, plug back in
▪
Switch device off, and back on
▪
If problem persists the COVID Client
Coordinator should be contacted
–
device will require servicing.
Device does not
calibrate and
will not
touch/hold BVM
▪
Calibration system is malfunctioning
▪
Emergency Stop button was pressed
and not reset in the correct fashion:
-
The Emergency Stop cuts
motor power only; the
controller still is powered, and
the device becomes
uncalibrated. Should the stop
button be reset without
powering off the machine, the
arms move outward VERY fast
and hit the limit switch, may
damage the machine and may
not re-calibrate.

Bag was not secured properly
▪
Bag is deflated from overuse
▪
Unplug device, plug back in
▪
Switch device off, and back on
▪
Re-secure the BVM
▪
Replace the BVM
▪
If problem persists the COVID Client
Coordinator should be contacted
–
device will require servicing.
Circuit pressure
reads a constant
+80cm H2O or -
80cm H2O
▪
Pressure sensor has failed
▪
Remove control box from service and
replace immediately.
▪
This can be done by contacting the
COVID Client Coordinator.
