Cooling water 

MetalJet D2+ systems are supplied with a water cooling solution which is fully integrated into the control 
software. In order to avoid damage to the system due to overheating, the water flow and water reservoir fill 
level are continuously monitored. Full software integration of the water cooling system is a requirement for 
MetalJet D2+ systems. 

Note: 

Customer supplied water cooling solutions can only be supported if flow rate and fill level can be 

communicated to the control software by either RS232 or USB. In addition, the water temperature has to be 
compatible with the melting point of the alloy used. Contact Excillum for further information about water 
chiller requirements if an external water cooling solution is preferred or required.  

MetalJet D2+ systems are currently delivered with a standalone water-to-air heat exchanger. Excillum

Follow appropriate installation instructions to ensure proper installation of the water cooling solution 
delivered with the MetalJet D2+ system. 

2.

 

Before starting the circulation of cooling water, verify that all water hoses are properly connected. 

3.

 

When starting the cooling water circulation, verify that all water hose connections are free from leaks. 
Be prepared to turn off water circulation as soon as there is any indication of water leakage.
