When you perform autoloader configuration, you will configure the
autoloader’s Ethernet interface (see
page 35
).

To power on the autoloader:

Make sure that the power switch on the back of the autoloader is off (press
the

Connect the female end of the power cord to the power connector on the
back of the autoloader.

Plug the male end of the power cord into the power source.

Push the power switch on the back of the autoloader to the on position
(press the
IIII
). The autoloader performs its power-on sequence. During this
time, the following activities occur:
The cooling fan begins to operate.
The LCD illuminates.
The tape drive and autoloader perform self-tests.
The autoloader calibrates the positions of the cartridge cells.
The autoloader checks each cartridge cell to determine if a cartridge is
present and updates the cartridge inventory.

If necessary, set the SCSI IDs for the autoloader and the tape drive. You can
use the default IDs or change them if they conflict with other devices on the
SCSI bus. See
page 29
for instructions.
