Downmix Input Channel Select:
These option buttons allow the user to toggle between configuration
of Downmix input channel mixers L, R, C and LFE, Ls, Rs.
Source – X & Y:
These controls allow the user to route one of the selectable mixer input audio sources
to the corresponding input (X or Y) of the Downmix input channel mixer.
Gain – X & Y:
These controls allow the user to set the value of the gain for the mixer input channel (X
or Y). The user can adjust the gain of the selected mixer channel (X or Y) by adjusting the
corresponding slider control. The supported range for gain adjustments is
-24dB to +24dB
. The gain
can be adjusted with
0.1dB
precision.
Inversion – X & Y:
These controls allow the user to invert the phase (180 degree phase shift) of the
corresponding mixer input channel. By selecting
Normal,
the module will pass the mixer input audio
through with no processing. By selecting
Invert,
the module will invert the phase of the mixer input
audio channel (X or Y).
5.2.12. Upmix [+UMX2]
The Upmix audio processing module provides the ability to upmix 2-channel (stereo) sound to 5.1
surround sound. The Upmix audio processing module is an
optional product feature
, and requires
the Upmix product option
[+UMX2]
to be included in the module’s product string. This feature is an
upgradeable product option, and can be purchased and added to 7847FSEDA modules that do not
currently have this product option. The
[+UMX2]
product option includes a dedicated Upmix audio
processing module for each video processing path.
When operating in
Auto
mode, the Upmix audio processor can automatically detect the presence of 5.1
surround sound on its input audio channels. If 5.1 surround sound is detected, the upmix audio
processing module simply passes the audio through. If 5.1 surround is not detected, the upmix audio
processing module automatically performs a 5.1 upmix of the 2-channel stereo input. This ensures the
output of the upmix audio processing module is always 5.1 surround sound regardless of the state of its
input audio.
The upmix audio processing module can also be forced to always upmix its input audio if automatic
detection of 5.1 surround sound is not desired.
To embed the Upmix audio processing module output onto the SDI program output, it must be selected
as a source for the embedded audio output mixers (See section 5.2.9 Embedded Audio Mixer)
There are a number of user controls available to configure the operation of the Upmix audio processing
module. Figure 5-19 illustrates the layout of these controls in the VistaLINK® PRO configuration view.
The specific functionality of each control is described below.
NOTE:
Please contact Evertz if interested in adding the Upmix [+UMX2] product option.
NOTE:
The Upmix tab is only visible when [+UMX2] is included in the module’s product
string.
