MIG Wire , Gun Connection, Power Source and Wire Feeder Information
The Power i

MIG 353DPi is divided into the main power source, wire feeder and water cooler. For opera-
tional purposes, the wire feeder controls the main amps and the voltage/voltage offset on the power source.
All other features are controlled on the power source itself. The wire feeder is connected via the control ca-
ble from the power source, the power cable from the power source and the gas line from the power source.
The wire feeder connects to these cables at the rear of the feeder. These cables and connections are color
coded or special fit and cannot be mistaken one for the other. The only connection that will change is the
polarity connection on the front of the MIG. For MIG (with gas) operations, the main power cable will always
be connected to the (+) positive terminal. The work clamp will then be connected directly to the power
source and then to the weldment. The If welding flux
-
core (gasless) the connections will be reversed with
the work clamp in the (+) positive terminal and the feeder in the (
-
) negative terminal. The work clamp will be
connected directly to the power source then to the weldment. For Stick both the electrode holder and the
work clamp will be connected directly to the power source.

Gas Connection: Connect to rear of Wire Feeder via the supplied tubing.

Control Connection: Connects to the rear of the Wire Feeder via the included control cable.

Positive Terminal: Connects to the rear of the Wire Feeder for MIG via the power cable. For Flux

(gasless), it is connected to the Work Clamp. For stick it is connected to the electrode holder. DINSE 35
