window (1meter) the same object will be drawn with already 30 pixels. Typical example of ZOOM
operation is shown on the picture.
«ZOOM» in “flasher” mode somehow differs from “zoom”
in other reflection modes (see the picture): the ordinary “flasher”
window will be located in the left part of the screen, and the right
part shows only the near bottom area of the set size (as in ordinary
“ZOOM”), however, with the signals marks all over the window
width. The picture shows two objects at depth 9,2m, and the same
objects in the area ZOOM.
Flasher ZOOM can be useful while watching the objects
and the nature of their movement in the near bottom area.
NOF (Noise and object filter)
NOF – is noise and object filter. The correct application of this adjustment allows you to get
on the sonar screen the desired image of current place. Six values of noise and object filters are
available – from 1 to 6. The higher the value of NOF, the less sensitive becomes the device, so it
is more possible to “blind off” the display of sick objects in the beam area. Conversely, the less is
NOF, the sicker objects will be displayed on the sonar screen. On default, NOF =3.
At the same time on each level of NOF it is possible additionally to regulate amplification
by using the sensitivity adjustment scale (see page 11 “sensitivity indicator”). Combining the
amplification (from 0 to 28 units) and NOF (from 1 to 6 units) it is always possible to get the
desired image on the screen. Especially NOF adjustment will be in-demand, if it is necessary to
adjust the right width of objects in ZOOM window. When NOF=1, the objects are displayed in
wide lines, when NOF=5,6 – in narrow lines or the objects are not displayed in the ZOOM window.
