amplification refers to the last ones: with its increase more weak signal may appear which
is not always justified as large amount of information may prevent right assessment of the
bottom picture and the route. If the set amplification is insufficient for the bottom detection
the device will show zeros or the depth figures will be changed chaotically. In this situation
it is recommend to increase amplification, i.e. the right button must be pushed and hold
until the depth figures appear on the screen.
If maximum sensibility is set, the sonar starts showing zeros instead of the depth, and the
bottom on the screen looks like thin dotted line or is absent at all, it means that for this
particular reservoir the device lacks power and sensitivity. This situation appears very
rarely, usually at depths close to the limit ones (20-25m), or with the very muddy bottom
that has weak reflecting capacity.
Frequently with regard to the “bad” bottom the device may take a big fish for it that gives
more powerful signal. Specific feature of this case is step-wise depth reduction for several
measurements with its subsequent return to initial value. In “depth meter” mode the sonar
itself selects optimal mode of pumping and amplification. If you need only precise depth
measurements and information on other objects is not interesting we recommend you to
operate in this mode.
You may know condition of the battery charge according its sign reflected in the bottom
left corner of the screen. More precise value of the battery voltage can be seen if the device
is changed over to “INFO” mode. We strongly recommend not to use cheap saline batteries,
and instead of them to use alkaline battery: one fresh battery is usually enough not only for
one fishing. What is even better, especially while working in severe frosts, is to use lithium
batteries of АА format. Application of accumulators of suitable size is possible, but it
should be remembered that voltage even from fully loaded accumulator is less that with
the charged battery, and in other equal efforts it will last for less time; besides, some
