OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

INTENDED USE 

The product displays the time, the date and the temperature; furthermore an alarm 
function is integrated.

The time is set automatically using an integrated multiband radio-controlled 
receiver.

Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these 
operating instructions.

This product complies with the applicable National and European regulations. All 
names of companies and products are the trademarks of the respective owner. All

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

   

Please read all of the operating instructions before using the product 
for the fi rst time; they contain important information about the correct 
operation. The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by 
failure to observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any li-
ability for any consequential damage!

 

 Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused 
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The 
warranty will be void in such cases.

   For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the 

product is not permitted. Never dismantle the product.

-

   The product is intended exclusively for use in dry interiors; it must not get damp 

or wet.

-

   This product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. Only use 

the product out of the reach of children; the product contains parts that can be 
swallowed as well as batteries.

-

   Condensation may form when the product is brought from a cold room into a 

warm one. Wait until it has reached room temperature before using it.

-

   Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous 

playthings for children.

-

   Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental 

drops, even from a low height.

BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS

-

   Keep batteries out of reach of children.

-

   Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being 

swallowed by children or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor im-
mediately.

-

   Leaking or damaged batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns, 

therefore, use suitable protective gloves. 

-

   Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fi re. There is a risk 

of explosion!

-

   Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only 

charge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use suitable 
rechargeable battery chargers.

-

   Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries (pay attention to 

plus/+ and minus/-! ).

ACTIVATING/REPLACING THE BATTERY

-

   Open the battery compartment (9) on the rear of the casing and remove the 

isolating pad.

-

  Close the battery compartment (9) again.

-

   Replacement of the battery is necessary when the display contrast fades, the 

clock stops or if the display light no longer works.

-

   Remove the inserted button cell in this case and insert a new Lithium button cell, 

type CR2031, into the battery compartment (9) observing the correct polarity. 
The correct polarity is indicated in the battery compartment.

   If nothing is shown in the display after activating the battery, press the RE-

SET button (7) with a pointed object (e.g. with a bent paper clip). If still 
nothing is displayed after that, the battery is decharged. Please replace it as 
described above.

GETTING STARTED

-

  Slide the display unit up in order to gain access to the buttons situated below.

-

   Hold the MODE button (2) pressed for about two seconds until the region display 

fl ashes.

-

  Use the ADJUST button (3) to select the region where you are:

 

 JJY=Japan/DCF=Germany or Europe/MSF=Great Britain/mapt (lower right of 
the display)=USA (WWVB reception)

-

   Press the MODE button (2) again and set the language for display of the week-

days using the ADJUST button (3):

 GB=English/FR=French/DE=German/ES=Spanish/IT=Italian

Press the MODE button (2) and switch the automatic daylight saving time on/off 
using the ADJUST button (3):

 

DST OFF=off/DST ON=on

   This function is not available when the Japanese time signal (JJY) is 

used.

-

   Press the MODE button (2) seven times to avoid the manual time/date setting 

since this is done automatically after detection of a radio signal.

-

   The date format setting fl ashes. Press the ADJUST button (3) to set the desired 

format: 

 

M-D=month/day / D-M=day/month

-

   Press the MODE (2) button again or wait for 30 seconds to save your settings.

-

   Now the clock attempts to receive the radio signal of the region set previously.

   The detection of the radio signal and its evaluation can take several minutes. 

Do not move the travel alarm clock during this time. Do not use any buttons!

 

 Bad reception can be caused, for example, by metalized insulated glass, rein-
forced concrete buildings, coated special wallpapers, proximity to electronic 
devices, or installation in cellars.

 

 If the current time is not displayed after 10 minutes, change the position of 
the travel alarm clock and start a manual attempt to detect the signal (see 
next chapter).

 

 The automatic signal detection attempts for synchronising with the radio 
signal are performed several times a day. One successful reception per day 
is suffi cient to keep the deviation to less than 1 second.

   To Set the Clock Format: Press the button ADJUST (3) briefl y to choose between 

a 12 or 24 hour format.
