9 Functional Check
Verification of measurement accuracy
It is very important to verify measurement accuracy with the model eye ASSY when
evaluating the accuracy of the measurement values of this product.
1)
Before setting the model eye ASSY, make sure it has no scratches or stains on its
surface. Set the model eye ASSY as shown below and verify the accuracy.
2)
Elevate the chin holder to the highest position and fix the model eye ASSY with the
chinrest liner pins tightly to prevent the chin holder from leaning.
3)
Align the model eye accurately by reference to the operation manual and take
measurements.
4) If the measurement values with the model eye ASSY are within the acceptable
range as shown below, there are no problems with measurement accuracy.
The accurate value of the model eye ASSY is attached on the model eye ASSY.
The attached value is S: spherical diopter power (VD=12). As well as AXIS, there
is no indication of C: cylinder frequency because it is 0.00.
Acceptable range
S C (R1 + R2)/ 2 R1 – R2
±0.25D ±0.25D ±0.05mm ±0.05mm
If the measurement values of the model eye ASSY are over the
acceptable range, check the instrument. Refer to ‘7-20. Troubleshooting’.
If alignment is not achieved accurately, the measurements cannot be taken correctly.
Verify the accuracy by using the model eye ASSY periodically.
