Replacing the Battery
The battery in the MGLS has a nominal battery-life of 3 years. The battery status is reported
automatically to the monitoring station via the CP. When the status indicates that the battery charge is
low, the battery must be replaced.
To replace the battery, perform the following procedure:
1.
Insert the screwdriver in the cover release tab, as illustrated in Figure 2 on page 5, and press the tab
to release the back cover
2.
Remove the old battery.
3.
Press the tamper switch several times, to release the residual static electricity.

Insert the new battery in the direction indicated in the diagram, as in Figure 3 on page 5. The
battery must be a 3 V CR123A Lithium battery.
5.
When the battery is installed, the LED lights up red, indicating that the device has powered up
successfully.
6.
Return the smart magnetic sensor to the mounting-base, as illustrated in Figure 7 on page 7.
