The following table describes the LED indications that show each status of the MGLS, when the LED is
enabled.

Table 1: MGLS LED Indications

LED Indication

Description

LED not lit

No change to status of the device. (Default state)

Lights up red

A door or a window is opened.

A door or window is closed after having been opened.

3.2.

Notifications

The MGLS sends notifications to the CP for the following events:

An “open” or “close” event

The room temperature on the premises passes the configured temperature thresholds.

The battery charge for the MGLS is low, requiring replacement.

The tamper switch in the MGLS is disturbed, registering a tamper event.

Use the Care@Home

CMS software application to configure the device parameters to define how and

when the MGLS device issues notifications to the CP. Refer to the Care@Home

 CMS User Guide for

the version of Care@Home

system installed on your Resident’s premises.

3.3.

Supervision

The MGLS is a supervised device. The MGLS periodically transmits its status, via an “I’m alive” message,
to the CP. The frequency of the reporting periods can be configured locally or remotely.

If after a pre-defined time the CP does not receive the “I’m alive” message, the CP sends a “no
communication” report to the Monitoring Station.
