3.4 Extra Low Humidity (ES-LHU,4)
3.4.1 Purpose
To operate the chamber at extra low humidity conditions. See specification for actual range. All procedures
in this section are in addition to procedures contained in
“Controlled Low Humidity (ES-LH, 4)” on page 29 .
3.4.2 Installation
Refer to “Controlled Low Humidity (ES-LH, 4)” on page 29 for installation procedures.
3.4.3 Operation
The chamber is equipped with a Rotronics H290 Solid State Humidity Sensor. The humidity sensor is a two
piece unit connected by wire. It consists of a 1/2” diameter probe with a porous filter cover over the active
portion of the sensor. The other piece is a 4-20 ma transmitter mounted remote from the sensor.
The extra low humidity range for his chamber can be obtained by setting Time Signal 9 and Time Signal 10
“ON”. The controller must be in humidity mode to operate the extra low humidity system.
The length of time required to reach the extra low humidity set point will vary greatly depending upon what
temperature and humidity the chamber was at before going to extra low humidity.
3.4.4 Maintenance
The porous filter on the solid state humidity sensor should be replaced if dirty.
When the filter is removed, the sensor is exposed. Extra care should be
taken to ensure that the sensor is not touched or damaged.
