Management
4.1 Overview
The software includes an SNMP Agent that can respond to SNMP requests
coming from any SNMP client.
In this version, no SNMP variable can be changed through SNMP-SET
requests.
The supported MIB files are the following standard ones:
RFC1213 – MIB for Network Management of TCP/IP-based Internets

RFC2233 – The Interfaces Group MIB using SMIv2
RFC2515 – Definitions of Managed Objects for ATM Management

Configuring SNMP Management
The community name supported by any SNMP command (
SET
or
GET
) is
PUBLIC
.
Change in SNMP settings must be saved in the startup configuration and
the system must be reset to take the change into account.
4.2.1
Enabling Reception of SNMP Requests
To be able to receive any SNMP request, a management entry point must
be created and bound with an interface. For more information on
management configuration, see section 2.11 on page 64.
