2. Interface connector terminal assignments and signal functions
P i n N u m b e r
Signal Name Signal Direction
Function
1
STROBE
Input
STROBE pulse for reading data.
Normally, this signal is "HIGH", just
after it goes "LOW", the printer reads
the data. Pulse width must be 0.5 µs
or more at the receive terminal.
2

Input
These signals are the eight parallel data

bits. "HIGH" indicates that the bit is '1"
and "LOW" indicates that it is "0".

A C K N L G
Output
This signal indicates that the printer is
ready to receive data. Under normal
conditions, it is "HIGH" and goes "LOW"
for approx 10 µs.
11
B U S Y
Output
This signal indicates whether the printer
can or cannot receive data. When this
signal is "HIGH", it indicates that the
printer cannot receive data. When it is
"LOW", it is indicates that the printer is
ready to receive data.
1 2
P E
Output
This indicates whether paper is present
or not. 'HIGH" indicates that the paper
has run out if paper end detection is
enabled by the control command. "LOW"
indicates that paper is present.
1 3
SLCT
Output
This signal is pulled up to +5 V through
3.3K resistor.
1 4
AUTO FEED XT
Input
If this signal is "LOW", when executing
the CR command, the printer executes 1
line feed automatically after printing.

GND
GND level signal for twisted pair return.
31
I N I T
I n p u t
Printer hardware reset signal. Normally,
this signal is "HIGH". The printer is
reinitialized, just as when power is turned
on, by receiving a "LOW" pulse of 50 µs
or more.
