When turned on after an extended period of disuse,
the printer may automatically perform head
cleaning to ensure print quality.
Head cleaning will end after about 10 to 15 minutes.
Notes on Handling Ink Packs and
Ink Tanks
Be aware of the following items when handling ink
packs and ink tanks:

Do not remove the ink tanks.
Ink tanks are calibrated when they are installed. If
they are removed, this may adversely affect quality
and performance.
❏
Store ink packs at room temperature out of direct
sunlight.
❏
In order to obtain high-quality prints, use the ink as
soon as possible before the recommended dates
listed below.

Recommended Usage Date on Ink Packs

25 days from the day the ink tank is refilled
❏
Ink packs that have been stored at low temperatures
for an extended period should be allowed to return
to room temperature over a period of four hours.
❏
When refilling the ink in an ink tank, be sure to use
all the ink in the ink pack at once.
❏
Refill the ink tank as soon as possible after opening
the ink pack.
❏
Do not place items on the ink tank or subject the ink
tank to strong impacts. The ink tank could come
off.
If the ink tank comes off, contact your dealer or
Epson Support.
❏
Do not use if the High Density Black and Black inks
are mixed. When changing the type of Black ink
being used, the ink tank should only be changed by a
service engineer. Changing the type of Black ink is
provided for a fee.

Notes on handling paper
Note the following points when handling and storing
the paper. If the paper is not in good condition, print
quality may decline.

Do not fold the paper or scratch the surface of the
paper.

Avoid touching the printable surface of the paper
with your bare hands. Moisture and oils from your
hands can affect print quality.

Handle paper by the edges. We recommend
wearing cotton gloves.
❏
Do not wet the paper.
❏
Do not throw away the paper packaging as you can
use it for storing the paper.
❏
Avoid locations that are subject to direct sunlight,
excessive heat, or humidity.
❏
Remove roll paper that is not in use from the
printer.Rewind it correctly and then store it in the
original packaging that came with the roll paper. If
you leave the roll paper in the printer for a long
time, its quality may decline.
